New neuro physio service launches in Surrey

Holy Cross in Haslemere, Surrey has extended the services it offers to the wider community with a new neurophysiotherapy outpatient service.

The specialised service is for people who have acquired disabilities from medical conditions or injuries affecting the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves.

Frances Campion-Smith, Chief Executive at Holy Cross says: “In the spirit of the values of our founding Sisters, we are dedicated to supporting patients at every step of their recovery journey. Each member of our caring team of neuro physios has undergone extensive training and has a great deal of experience in treating severe neurological conditions.

“When they first see a patient, they will carry out an initial assessment to analyse the patient’s body movements, and how this affects daily activities and tasks. Armed with this information and knowledge about the patient’s personal recovery goals, they will create a bespoke treatment programme which may include exercises, manual intervention or hydrotherapy. The team also has access to a wide variety of specialised equipment and assistive technology which can hasten or complement the prescribed treatment programme.”

Holy Cross has had a presence in Haslemere for over 100 years. Today, the charity is a renowned centre for patients who require neurological or complex neurological care, and post-surgical rehabilitation following major joint surgery.
