Back to the classroom

Therapists from across Surrey and Hampshire have taken part in a course to learn more about rheumatology in musculoskeletal conditions.

We were delighted to welcome course tutor Jack March who is the rheumatology clinical lead for Chews Health and a specialist physio in orthopaedics in the NHS.

On the course, Jack covered recognising rheumatology and systemic inflammatory disorders and physiotherapy management of rheumatological conditions.

Ed Carroll, musculoskeletal physiotherapist says: “Physiotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of conditions including sports injuries or if someone has been affected by illness, disability or injury. It is also important to know when to refer onwards and get other specialists involved, for which this course was particularly useful. As it is so broad, continuous professional development is a key requirement for a career in physiotherapy.

“Learning how physiotherapy can be used to help people with rheumatic diseases is knowledge we will put into immediate effect.”

The next course to be hosted at The Physiotherapy Centre is the ATACP accredited hydrotherapy foundation course on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July. To book or to find out more information, visit our page about our upcoming courses.
